The title alone is enough to send shivers of anticipation down the spine of any self-respecting action fan and ‘Runaway Train' does not disappoint. Two hardened criminals, on the run from prison, sneak aboard a work train snaking its way through the Alaskan wilderness. After a series of unfortunate events – the train's engineer has a heart attack, the brakes go kaput, the track controller's computer bales out and the only other person on board who knows how to drive the train is…(gasp!)..a woman! It may be formulaic, it may be as dumb as dirt but it's also a high-tension, edge-of-your-seat-rollercoaster-ride of a movie with pitch perfect performances from all the leads (yes, even Eric Roberts).
